Corporate Director for Environment and Regeneration
Up to £135k
You’ll be leading a diverse portfolio of highly visible services, so it’s essential that you have the breadth of perspective and capacity to retain a keen focus on the detail of operational standards alongside a strategic mindset that will ensure improvement and innovation are embedded in service planning.
You’ll ensure a culture where the customer perspective drives service design. The emphasis will be on establishing greater cohesion and collaboration across such a wide range of services, and making the connections between frontline delivery and our broader corporate objectives.
As a member of our Corporate Management Board, you’ll have a visible leadership role to play across the organisation and have the opportunity to make a key personal contribution to the delivery of our Corporate Plan.
Collaboration, system leadership and people management skills will all be vital skills. It’s essential that you can foster positive professional relationships with councillors, partners and senior colleagues throughout the council. And this will need to be underpinned with core strengths in project and programme management, bringing rigour and pace to the sponsorship of key projects within the directorate. You’ll be encouraged to think beyond current models of delivery, to provoke debate and creativity around how we can enhance quality and efficiency, and explore emerging commercial opportunities.
